'EVERYDAY NEIGHBORS' 2024 / GET INVOLVED!

'Everyday Neighbors' 2024 Multilngual Wall Calendar! A new & freely available community initiative by yours truly / Inkyrhythm Musicomix, with support from Burlington City Arts & AALV & more! Peep a digital preview of the whole thing right here!

Names of months & days & other info is written in 13 of the languages spoken here in Burlington, Vermont: Arabic, Bosnian, Burmese, Chinese, French, Kirundi, Nepali, Pashto, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese... Paired with scores of new ink drawings of the ordinary beautiful humans who make-up our vibrant communities! Both art & text are done by hand with calligraphy brushes, india ink, & mechanical pens.
Best of all, these will be available to local folks for FREE, left in piles at various working people's hubs all around town. As it should be!
Would you like a calendar? Or 2, 3, more? Would you like to support this ambitious & barely breaking-even project? I'm printing a limited number of extras for local pick-up & mail-order, $25 a pop, shipping included to anywhere on earth.
Solidarity! The more orders that come in, the more free calendars I can print & distribute around our city (1,000 at minimum, hopefully more)...
Thank you for being YOU!

DONUT GIVE UP

I'm proud to have my ink drawings gracing the flipside of Miss Weinerz' delicious sourdough donut package labels for the next lil' while... A new quartet of distinct scenes each week. Kinda like the old Bazooka Joe comix inside the gum wrappers... collect the set! For anyone unfamiliar with these artisanal baked creations in the NW of Vermont, each is truly a hardy meal unto itself... complete with mostly local ingredients & seasonal foraged flavorings! Shout out to the one-baker show that is the amazing Ren.

>> repost from @missweinerz >>
If you buy our snack @citymarketcoop you may have noticed our packages now have local art inside the label! ❤️πŸ₯³πŸ’•πŸ§‘‍🎨😘. This month we are honored to share the work of @ivyupnorth

Ivan Klipstein is a songwriter and illustrator living in Burlington, who is passionate about paying creative homage to the lives and stories of everyday working people and communities.
All the images featured in this series of donut labels are sourced from Ivan's deep collection of ink drawings created live, spontaneously, and in person, of regular life moments for Burlington residents of any and all varieties, during the past dozen years.

A limited selection of the original drawings (as well as various other prints, posters, comic books, and music albums) are available for purchase... Get in touch with the artist for more information!

COURSE CHARTING...

Well, it only took two years, but it's happening! The Musicomix Tour was a no-go in 2020 for obvious reasons... In 2021 I stayed home again to work on new records, keeping an eye on things out there meanwhile. And this year, as well-practiced pandemic navigators, I think we've all accepted that this Covid thing isn't going anywhere... So we're just going to do our best to safely spread some joy & creativity around while the sun is out: Summer of 2022! Third time's a charm, right? The campaign remains active, and all rewards are still available for your kind donations, small and large. I'm excited to see y'all out there for a live Musicomix show in YOUR neighborhood! Much love to all who've donated & shared this fundraiser among their people! Thank you for supporting my modern grassroots folk-art & folk-music, unified as one... See you soon!

BREAD & PUPPET INKSPILLS

A couple sketches from both in front of, and behind the scenes... of October's residency tour of schools around Appalachia with Bread & Puppet Theater. This year marks a full decade that I've been involved with this very special organization in my own intermittent way... And while it's not often easy, it is always educational.
